Can I get plate cut to size?
ECONSTEEL can cut plate to any size or shape. Just supply your drawing or .dxf file.
Will plate always be oversize?
No. Plate can run up to .01" underside. Tolerance over depends on the thickness of the plate. Consult with your ECONSTEEL
sales associate or use the
resources page on the ECONSTEEL website.
What pattern size can I get?
Standard pattern sizes are 4' x 8', 4' x 10', 5' x 8', 8' x 10' and 8' x 20'. Depending on thickness, there may be availability in 5', 6 or 7' widths. Your ECONSTEEL sales team can help you determine availability.
How much stock is needed for burned plate?
Because the amount of necessary stock can vary, it's best to give your finished dimensions to your ECONSTEEL team and let them know what your finish requirements are. We will then ensure you receive parts you can use. Please keep in mind that, whenever plate is burned, there will be a Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ). With thin plate this may only be about 1/16" per side; however, on heavier plate (6" and over), this could be as much as 1/8" per side (1/4" overall). This area will have small cracks, affected chemistry, and altered physical properties. If you need a clean finish or the edges are worn, you will want to clean up beyond the HAZ. In addition, you need to consider the burn tolerance, which will be larger the thicker the plate is.
